Debajit Jha is an Associate Professor at the Jindal School of Government and Public Policy, O. P. Jindal Global University, Haryana. He received the Ph.D. degree in economics from the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Before joining this university in 2017, he taught economics at different reputed government colleges in West Bengal under West Bengal Education Service (WBES) for more than six years. During this period, he also served as an Assistant Director of Public Instruction to the Government of West Bengal. He has authored/coauthored several research papers in the journals of national and international repute. He is a macro-development economist by training and his primary research interest includes empirical growth and development economics. He is currently working in different interesting policy-oriented research projects funded by international and national donor agencies including “nowcasting and forecasting of economic growth and inflation in India,” “understanding economic growth dynamics of Indian states,” “policy sequencing in economic reforms,” along with others.
